Just in time for summer, Boston splash pads and playgrounds are reopening.
Beginning yesterday, Mayor Walsh has opened playgrounds and splash pads to the public. While social distancing and wearing a face mask is encouraged, it’s certainly a promising move.
For all updated regulations, the city will be placing new sings around the areas with health and safety tips. It’s recommended that no more than 12 people are in an area.
The city of Boston regulations include:
- practice social distancing when visiting our parks and playgrounds
- wear a face covering when keeping six feet of distance from others isn’t possible, and
- remember to wash and sanitize your hands before and after using a playground.
While playgrounds are open, not all parks are. For example, basketball courts are still closed to the public, along with group sports as well. Athletic fields are open for general recreation, including tennis and pickleball courts are open.
