Okay, here’s a round-up of all the fun events happening in Boston and Beyond for cheap or free this weelend. Since it is Martin Luther King Weekend, I also included a lot of free and fun events happening on Monday too. Enjoy!

Celebrate Poe’s 204th Birthday: Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 3-4:30pm at the Central Library at Copley Square. Join the Edgar Allan Poe Foundation to celebrate the famous Author’s 204th birthday with readings from his work, and more. Free.

Make Some Noise to Save a Life at House of Blues: Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 7-11pm. Make some noise to raise awareness and funds for Samaritans, a local suicide prevention and support organization with music performer, Joe Bermudez. There will also be plenty of TV screens on the Pats game too. 18+. Free.

Day of Service to Celebrate MLK: Monday, January 21, 2013. Have the day off? Consider heading to Cambridge to give back to the community. Free, but please bring a can of food, a children’s book, or gently worn clothing item to donate.

Free Entrance Day to a National Park: Monday, January 21, 2013. Visit one of the 398 National Parks in the country (and 15 in Massachusetts) for FREE!

Visit the Museum of Fine Arts: Monday, January 21, 2013. The MFA offers free admission on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The inauguration will also be live, streaming coverage with other special events happening as well.

A Day of Service & Celebration in Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1pm at Faneuil Hall. Mayor Tom Menino and Target in partnership with the Museum of African American History and the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras present the 11th Annual service and celebration. Free.

And of course, the first Bruins hockey game is on Saturday, and the AFC Championship game in on Sunday, so a good weekend to relax and watch some sports 🙂
