I am so thrown off this week due to the holidays, but happy the weekend is (almost) here! Here’s the best deals and events happening in the Boston area for the first weekend of 2013! A lot of free Museums and zoos this weekend… Stay warm!

Bank of America’s Museum on Us Weekend: Saturday, January 5, 2013 & Sunday, January 6, 2013. Bank of America & Merrill Lynch cardholders can get into select museums the first weekend of every month for free by showing their bank card. Museum of Fine Arts, MIT Museum and six other museums across the state participate in the free museum program.

Harvard Art Museum: Saturday, January 5, 2013. From 10am-12pm on Saturdays, Massachusetts residents can explore the museum for free with proper Mass ID.

Harvard Museum of Natural History and Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology: Sunday, January 6, 2013. Mass residents can visit the Harvard Museum of Natural History and the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology for free on Sundays from 9am-12pm with proof of residency.

Kid Price Saturday at Franklin Zoo: Saturday, January 5, 2013. Pay and feel like a kid the first Saturday of every month at Franklin Park Zoo between 10 a.m. & noon for just $11. Head to Stoneham, MA to the Stone Zoo between 10am-12pm and pay $10 for admission.

Roger Williams Zoo in Providence, RI: Saturday, January 5, 2013 (and all January & February too). Venture down to Providence, RI in January or February to grab half-off admission tickets. $7.50 for adult tickets and $4.95 for children ages 3-12, and residents of Providence can grab free admission the first Saturday of each month.

Pilates Bootcamp with Jennifer Phelan: Sunday, January 6, 2013. Join Pilates instructor Jennifer Phelan for a 45-minutes Pilates class for free at the Quincy Market Upper Rotunda from 9:15am to 10am. Bring your own mat.

Cooking Class at Williams Sonoma: Saturday, January 5, 2013 & Sunday, January 6, 2013. Start off the new year with a free cooking class and technique classes from Williams Sonoma. (The Copley Place location is offering a free Eat Well in the winter class on Sunday at noon and a juice demo on Saturday). Call your local Williams Sonoma for more information and class times.
