Boston Waterfront Events This New Year's Eve

Anticipation for New Year’s Eve has been low this year. COVID has shutdown many Bostonians typical year-end plans. However, this city is resilient. Through the grace of many local corporate sponsors and businesses, there will be Boston waterfront events taking place this December 31st.

Boston Harbor Now is one of the city’s fastest growing nonprofits. And they are happy to present their Waterfront Ice Sculpture Stroll. The stroll will encompass four Boston waterfront neighborhoods. There will be over twelve ice sculptures on display between The North End, East Boston, Downtown, and the Seaport.

Boston Harbor President and CEO Kathy Abbott wants to bring a communal feel to the holidays. She says, “It’s especially important this time of year as people are looking to celebrate the holidays and connect with their families and communities.”

But rest assured there will be COVID protocols in place. In fact, each sculpture will have signs that remind strollers to wear their masks and socially distance.

The nonprofit is also running a Staycation Giveaway Contest! All you have to do to enter is post a selfie with one of the sculptures and follow @BostonHarborNow on any social media platform. Tag the company in your post and add the location to be automatically entered to win. Prizes include a #BundleUpBoston swag kit, a trip to the Boston Harbor Islands, restaurant gift cards, and more.

Additionally, there are other events that Bostonians can attend while observing the sculptures. Go see the holiday lights at Christopher Columbus Park. Festive blue lights will adorn the trees throughout the park in this must-see spectacle. Also, be sure to participate in Waterfront Bingo. It’s a traditional bingo card that’s filled with activities that can be achieved on New Year’s Eve. Can you score a bingo?
