After a week of protests, the city of Boston has preemptively set up free and confidential COVID-19 testing sites to symptomatic and asymptomatic individuals.
In partnership with the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, the city is offering these testing sites at Washington Park Mall’s parking lot. It will be open Wednesday and Thursday this week, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Appointments and walk-ins are welcome. Anyone who has participated in protests, or large gatherings are encouraged to get a test.
“As residents take a stand and raise their voices against racism and injustice, we want to provide every tool we can to keep them and their loved ones healthy when returning home,” said Mayor Marty Walsh.
COVID-19 testing can be found in more than 20 locations in the city. A map of all the testing sites can be found here. All testing is free regardless of insurance or immigration status.
The Mayor’s Health Line is offering multilingual options. The number (617-534-5050) is able to assist with insurance applications, using Boston’s health care system, and any additional questions on the pandemic.
