What: Drop by Life in Deep Ellum for a Creativity Workshop featuring Matthew Dickerson, professor and accomplished author.
Also a Tolkien expert, Dickerson will explore J.R.R. Tolkien’s vision of art and creativity in a fallen world. And through Tolkien’s short story, Leaf by Niggle, Dickerson will talk about how mortality affects our creative process.
The first session will have live readings and conversations about the importance of the vocation and calling of the artist in a fallen world. The second session will focus on developing the craft, leading to an artist’s maturity and mastery.
