The Hispanic Heritage month kicked off on 15 September and will go on till 15 October. It first began as Hispanic Heritage Week but in 1988, an entire month was dedicated to the commemoration of this culture. The date 15 September was chosen as the start because it marks the independence of the five Hispanic countries namely Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
