Dallas Museum of Art: Virtual Event: Pip Williams

What: A conversation between author Pip Williams and Simon Winchester around the former’s work, The Dictionary of Lost Words, set during the suffragist movement with the Great War rumbling on the horizon. The conversation will explore the delights of this clever book from the lexicography cannon.

Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth: Magnolia at the Modern

When Hitler Stole A Pink Rabbit

What: A series of film screenings at the museum auditorium which will showcase movies like Gunda, The Killing of Two Lovers, The Dry and When Hitler Stole a Pink Rabbit. Take your pick and catch thought provoking films at the museum every week.

Kimbell Art Museum: The Artist’s Eye

What: A conversation with artist Celia Eberle in a session moderated by the curator of European art at the museum, Nancy E Edwards to explore the art of the past in the context of the present. During the talk, artists and architects at the museum will discuss the works in the museum’s collection and share insights on contemporary artistic concerns.

Meadows Museum: Making in the Museum: Art on the Plaza: Pastels on the Plaza

What: An afternoon spent outdoors with family creating beautiful sculptures in an educator-led discussion and art making session.

Dallas Contemporary: Public Tour: Liu Xiaodong

What: A guided tour of the museum’s many collections and displayed artworks led on the last Saturday of the month by a curator, educator or guest speaker. This month, the tour will be conducted by artist Liu Xiaodong whose exhibit Borders is currently on display at the museum.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art: Virtual Artful Moments: Recycle

What: A repurposing of materials inspired by artists and artworks in the museum’s collection coupled with hands-on activities and a free flowing conversation between attendees where you can discuss shared stories and experiences. The monthly event is especially curated for patients with early stage dementia and their caregivers.

When: Thursday, 20 May 2021, 1.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m.
