Local Fort Worth restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro is offering a remarkable deal to help feed families and help those who have recently been laid off due to the Covid-19 virus. Chef Tim Love’s family dinner special is four nights of four meals for only $150.
The family dinner special comes out to $9, delivered. The money made on the family dinner special goes to a benefit fund for workers who lost their jobs to the coronavirus layoffs. The lunch program started by Tim is for those in need, and laid-off restaurant workers.
Fortunately, for you the menu offers plenty of delicious options including vegetarian dishes.
You get to choose four of eight dinners including beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin, lemon baked chicken and pork tacos. Vegetarian dishes include chiles rellenos, baked ziti, veggie lasagna or veggie fajitas. Each comes with a side dish. Beer, wine, and cocktails are also now available for pick up.
There’s one catch: You have to order three days in advance and must be done online. And, the only available delivery times are 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. – the delivery drivers are instructed to knock or ring the doorbell then leave to avoid any contact. Keep all this mind before placing your order.
“The delivery took off like crazy and people started wanting to donate to the program,” Tim said.
This new trend throughout the DFW is beginning to take off. More restaurants are banding together to create another option for families to find food, while helping those that have recently lost their job.
