The Best Places to See Christmas Lights in DFW

While Christmas might be a little different this year, there’s still festive events where you can take the family out to get into the Christmas spirit. There are many places in DFW that are going all out with their drive-thru Christmas lights display so that you can get the Christmas event experience while still maintaining safety and social distancing guidelines.

Here are just a few of the places in the metroplex you can take the family out to see some of the biggest and brightest Christmas lights in DFW and the surrounding area.

 

Viridian Lights

The North Arlington community of Viridian is hosting a drive-through Christmas lights display this year along Viridian Park Lane. This is a free event, which is open November 27, 2020 – January 3, 2021, with showings daily from 6 PM – 11 PM.

Visitors are encouraged to tune into the Viridian Lights Spotify playlist while touring the display.

Interlochen

Interlochen is one of the most popular neighborhoods to see Christmas lights in DFW from the comfort of your car. Interlochen has been a tradition in the North Arlington community for over 40 years, and it attracts thousands of families every December.

Interlochen Christmas lights trail is a free event open December 18th – 25th, 2020 from 7 PM – 11 PM, and can be accessed from West Randol Mill or Fielder Rd depending on how long the line is. There is no access from Bowen Rd. A map of the Christmas Lights trail can be found on the Interlochen website.

Visitors are encouraged to tune into Christmas music radio stations 102.1 FM or 98.7 FM during the tour.

 

Vitruvian Lights

Located in Addison, Vitruvian Park is a 19-acre, pet-friendly park which hosts a park-wide Christmas Lights display. They host a walk through park experience of Christmas lights that is free to the public. Lights are on daily November 27th, 2020 – January 3rd, 2021 from 5 PM – 11 PM.

Gift of Lights Texas

Gift of Lights Texas is a drive-thru Christmas lights event located at the Texas Motor Speedway in Northern Fort Worth. In fact, it’s one of the coolest places to see Christmas lights in DFW! Prices of tickets start at $30 per car, and can be purchased at the gate when you arrive or pre-purchased online.

Gift of Lights Texas is open daily November 26th, 2020 – January 3rd, 2021. Hours of operation are 6 PM – 10 PM on Friday & Saturday and 6 PM – 9 PM on Sunday – Thursday. This event takes an average of 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete.

Prairie Lights

Prairie Lights is a drive-thru event located at Lynn Creek Park on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie. This event boasts 5 million lights set along 2 miles of path. Prices of tickets start at $30 per car, and can be purchased at the gate when you arrive or pre-purchased online.

This event is running November 26th – December 31st, 2020 with doors open at 6 PM. Visitors must be in line before 9 PM at the latest to be granted admission.

Visitors are encouraged to listen to 98.7 FM KLUV’s Classic Trax playlist while on the tour.

 

Magic Of Lights

Magic of Lights is a drive-thru event located at Little Elm Park on Eldorado Pkwy. which features “favorite holiday scenes and characters of the season using the latest LED technology and digital animations.” Tickets for this event start at $26 per car when purchased online or $30 per car when purchased at the gate. This event is open November 20th, 2020 – Jan. 2nd, 2021 from 6 PM – 10 PM.

Radiance!

Radiance! is a drive-thru event located at Dr. Pepper Ballpark on Roughriders Trail in Frisco which features over 2 million lights across a trail approximately 1-1.5 miles long. Tickets start at $30 per car, and can be purchased at the gate or in advance online.

This event is open daily on November 11th, 2020 – January 3rd, 2021 from 5:30 PM to 10 or 11 PM depending on the day. A complete calendar of hours of operation by day can be found on their website.

Visitors will be encouraged to tune their car stereo to a “special Radiance! station listed at the entrance to the attraction.”

 

Candy Cane Lane

Candy Car Lane is a drive-thru “multi-level visual Christmas attraction” located in Downtown Dallas at the American Airlines Center’s Silver parking garage. This event features a “vast array of holiday lights, classic holiday lantern characters, and a wonderland of surprises around every corner.” Ticket prices start at $35 per car and can be purchased at the gate or online on their website.

This event is open select days from 6 PM – 9 PM on November 27th – December 26th, 2020. A complete calendar of open dates can be found on their website.

 

Dallas Zoo Lights

Dallas Zoo Lights is a drive-thru event where visitors will see “one million lights in elaborate displays” throughout a section of the Dallas Zoo. Ticket prices for this event start at $50 per car for members, & $65 per car for non-members. Tickets must be purchased in advance online, and will not be sold at the gate.

This event is open from 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m on November 20th, 2020 – January 3rd, 2021, with some days excluded. A calendar of open Zoo Lights days can be found on their website.

Visitors are encouraged to tune to 1670 AM for the Dallas Zoo Lights Christmas music during their tour.
