Summer Discounts at the MoviesIt’s almost time for summer vacation, so that means it’s almost time for cheap movies for kids! Here’s the list of theaters offering discounts this summer:

Rave Cinemas – no mention of the Free Family Film Festival like last year, but you can enjoy $5 discount days on Tuesdays all day. More expensive, but movies are newer. UPDATE 6/6: Rave Cinemas was purchased by Cinemark in June. Cinemark has not added this location to its list of theaters participating in the Summer Movie Clubhouse, but we’ll keep an eye out to see if anything changes.

Cinemark – Get super-cheap admission to PG- and G-rated shows with their Summer Movie Clubhouse. Pay in advance and get 10 admissions for $5, or $1 each if purchased at the theater. Happens on various weekdays at DFW-area Cinemark Locations. Find listings for Cinemark Alliance Town Center in Fort Worth here. Find Cinemark Mansfield’s listings here. Shows start June 12 in Fort Worth, June 5 in Mansfield.

Regal – their Summer Movie Express program nets you $1 admission at participating locations. See all Texas locations here. Movies start June 11.

Studio Movie Grill – get $1 admission for kids and $2 tickets for adults with their Children’s Summer Series. Buy tickets at the box office. Movies start June 10. (Want to see a first-run movie? Find discount tickets to Studio Movie Grill here.)

Harkins TheatresSummer Movie Fun begins June 10. Movies are $1 admission. See full lineup here. The only local Harkins Theater is in Southlake.

Premiere Cinemas – get $1 admission with their Summer Movie Kids Fest. Movies begin June 19. Only local theater is in Burleson.

AMC Theaters – unfortunately, the AMC Summer Movie Camp program ended in 2010.

City Lights Theatre (Weatherford) – according to their Facebook page, they have a Family Film Festival every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., starting June 11. Tickets are 50 cents each; drink and popcorn kids’ deal for $3.50.
