About The Museum of Biblical Art

Dallas’ Museum of Biblical Art was founded in 1966 by Mattie Caruth Byrd, the daughter of one of Dallas’ wealthiest and most prominent families. Byrd wanted the museum to a beautiful space where visitors can learn about Biblical-themed art, and today the museum certainly upholds her wishes.

The Museum of Biblical Art currently receives around 50,000 visitors a year and has established itself as a distinguished institution in the arts and education communities of Dallas-Fort Worth. The museum now boasts eleven separate galleries, The National Center for Jewish Art, an on-site Art Conservation Lab, Via Dolorosa Sculpture Garden, and other major exhibits and collections which preserve the world’s rich history of Biblical art.
