The Best Things to Do Labor Day Weekend in DFW

ALL WEEKEND LONG

Restaurant Weeks– DFW Restaurant Weeks is a charitable events bringing fine cuisine from all over the city to the people. Restaurants offer their best dishes at an affordable price so that everyone can experience Epicurean dining. They’re having specials at some of the best restaurants in the city through September 2. Deals are running out so make your reservations now!

ALE TRAIL– The Fort Worth Ale Trail is a brewery-hopping experience that every Fort Worthian or visitor should experience. Stop by the Stockyards Visitor Center to pick up your Ale Trail passport, then make sure to grab a stamp at every brewery you visit. There are more than a dozen local and craft breweries to visit in Fort Worth, just call to make sure they are open before you head out.

Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival– This three-day festival celebrates the best of Blues and bar-b-que. Head out on Friday night for free admission and free parking or pay just $10 – $15 per person for Saturday or Sunday.

50th Anniversary Texas International Pop Festival– This two- day music festival will feature seven performers each day, plus headlining acts. ZZ Top will finish out the evening on Saturday, followed by Chicago on Sunday. Tickets are $30 per person per day but if you purchase a weekend pass, you save $10!

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30

WestFest & Labor Day Parade– This annual festival celebrates the Czech heritage which helped settle this region. You’ll enjoy live entertainment, live music, authentic food and beverages, and more. They’ll start off with a Labor Day parade through the streets of downtown West, Texas beginning at 10 am. The parade is free and admission to the music festival begins at just $10.

Rodeo at Fair Park Coliseum– The rodeo is in town and admission is just $10! Enjoy mutton’ bustin’, a traditional rodeo, and more. The event is going on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

The Dock Anniversary Party– This restaurant in Fort Worth is hosting their anniversary party and you get the benefits! The first 30 people will receive a free lobster roll, the next 30 people get $6 off, and the next 30 after that get $3 off! There will be giveaways and more! They open at 11 am on Friday morning!

Live Music at Rogers Roundhouse– This establishment offers live music every Friday night. Come out this week to support a fellow Fort Worth musician, Andrew Sullivan. The singer and songwriter will be on stage starting at 7 pm.

Free Fun at Salsa Limón– This Mexican restaurant is not only authentic but they know how much free events mean to you. Friday and Saturday nights are for karaoke! Show your talent while enjoying the full menu. Karaoke starts at 9 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Fireworks Show at Lake Grapevine– Every Friday night through September, you can catch a fireworks show over Lake Grapevine. The best viewing areas are local parks like Katie’s Woods or Lakeview Park. The show will be choreographed to match the music and you can stream the music via Sound Cloud!

 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 31

DinoFest at The Perot Museum– One of the best museums in DFW is celebrating Dinosaurs! DinoFest is going on Saturday and Sunday with their best exhibits open from 10 am to 4 pm. The museum closes at 5. Admission is $13 for children and $20 for adults.

Labor Day Party at CANVAS– This Boutique Hotel is offering a Labor Day in Dallas  by the pool! This pool party is open to the public and hosted on their top-floor outdoor pool. Admission is just $10 per day and the event is going on Saturday through Monday!

ESPN College GameDay at Sundance Square– Celebrate Labor Day in Fort Worth with ESPN’s College Game Days! ESPN will be in the plaza and the game will be on in the restaurants and bars. You can also take advantage of food and drink specials

DFW Yoga Festival– This annual event is totally free to attend, plus you can get free classes of yoga! Going on at Main Street Garden Park, there will be vendors, giveaways, food trucks, live music, classes, and more.

 

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

Labor Day Food Truck Rally at Klyde Warren Park– The 2019 Labor Day Food Truck Rally is going on in downtown Dallas. There will be food trucks, live DJs, a live band, and more. Admission is free, just bring cash or card for your food and drinks!

Labor of Love Fest at Deep Ellum Brewing Co.– The 8th Annual Labor of Love festival celebrates homebrewers, local vendors, and beer! The event is kid and dog-friendly and admission is just $10.

Labor Less Weekend at Legacy Hall– Labor Less Weekend celebrates being off work (for you, at least!) with a two-day party. Admission is free on both days and there will be a live George Straight Tribute Band on site. Also, Monday offers $5 Mimosas!

 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2

Garland Labor Day Parade– This parade and car show is free to attend. Head to Historic Downtown Garland to see local bands, sports squads, and floats. Downtown Garland Square will host the classic car show.

Labor Day Party at CANVAS– This Boutique Hotel is offering a Labor Day by the pool! This pool party is open to the public and hosted on their top-floor outdoor pool. Admission is just $10 per day and the event is going on Saturday through Monday!

DFW Free Day of Yoga– As a follow up to the DFW Yoga Festival, studios all over DFW are hosting a free day of yoga where you can receive one free class per person!

Labor Less Weekend at Legacy Hall– Labor Less Weekend celebrates being off work (for you, at least!) with a two-day party. Admission is free on both days and there will be a live George Straight Tribute Band on site. Also, Monday offers $5 Mimosas!

Labor Day Fun at The Texas Pool– How about a Labor Day spend poolside? This pool party is just $10 per person. There will be pool games, a cannonball contest, and more. You can bring your own canopies and chairs as well as cooler with food and non-alcoholic beverages, just leave the glass at home.
