There are so many photobook-creation sites out there today, it’s rare to find one that’s much better than any of its competitors. But, after creating a photo book from Mixbook, I think I’ve found my favorite.
Mixbook is unique because it allows many people to contribute to a photo book to create something that’s truly a collaborative effort. Say you go on vacation with your family – there may be 8 or 9 picture-taking devices along for the ride between digital cameras, iPhones and the like. Mixbook allows you to grant access to as many people as you’d like, and they can each upload their own photos and create pages. You can also upload photos from Facebook, Flickr, and other social media sites, to make it even easier. Plus, with Mixbook, you aren’t limited to static design templates. Each design is fully customizable – you pick the font, background, number of pictures, and so on.
I created a book with Mixbook recently for my younger son. When my first son was a baby (and he slept a lot) I made a nice book full of his baby pictures, but I never made one for my youngest. (I know, for shame!) So I was delighted to have the opportunity to make a hardcover book especially for him. I chose a nice, boyish, planes-and-trains theme for the cover and picked plenty of other fun designs for the inside. In the end, I had a very nice creation. Check it out:
