On Saturday, Aug. 16, more than 30 animal shelters will offer free pet adoptions for Empty the Shelter, a concerted effort to find homes for pets in need. On this day, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be no adoption fee to take home a pet. (Other fees may apply.) For a complete list of participating shelters, visit the event’s website. Several shelters in Fort Worth, Keller, North Richland Hills and other nearby cities will participate.
