Free Kids' Activities at Main Street Arts FestThere’s plenty of free things for kids to do at the Main Street Fort Worth Arts Festival, scheduled for April 14-17 in downtown Fort Worth. Some of the free activities will take place at Main Street Creates, a kids’ area located at the north end of Main Street between Weatherford and 2nd. Free activities include mask-making and tile-decorating sponsored by Home Depot. For a complete list of the kids’ activities – including ones that you must buy tickets for – check here.

There will also be free kid-friendly entertainment on the Main Street Creates stage , including performances by Ballet Folklorico, American Indian drumming and dancing, and Dan Egger Belandria, a Latin-style percussionist. See the entire entertainment schedule here.

While you’re at the festival, don’t forget to check out Off MAIN!, a collection of shows and activities that take place just a few blocks away from the main event. The Fort Worth Symphony will hold an open house on Saturday, April 16, from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at Bass Performance Hall. This open house will include free 20-minute orchestra performances, a “musical instrument petting zoo” for kids, and meet-and-greets with musicians.

As part of Off MAIN!, the Fort Worth Central Library will hold a free National Day of Puppetry Festival from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, April 17. Kids can enjoy puppet shows, activities and displays.
