photo canoeing_zpsd1c0ca12.jpgOn Sunday, March 17, the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge will host Canoe Fest, a family event that lets everyone enjoy the water. Enjoy a bit of canoeing/kayaking on your own on the quiet waters around Greer Island. Canoes/kayaks, paddles and lifejackets will be provided. Children in canoes must be 5 years or older and accompanied by a parent or guardian. Kayakers must be at least 14 years old and accompanied by their guardian, otherwise they must be least 18 years old. No pre-registration is needed. The event will begin at 11 a.m.

Cost of this event is $5 per person with paid admission. Adult admission is $5, kids 3-12 are $2, and kids 3 and under are free. If you have a military ID, you can receive a $1 discount per person.

The Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge is at 9601 Fossil Ridge Rd. in Fort Worth.
