I was lucky enough to be able to visit the new H-E-B  that opened last week in Granbury. Slowly but surely, they are moving up into North Texas, and bringing their unique blend of high quality and low prices with them. Here are a few pics I took inside:

OMG, bread! Most of their bakery items, like the artisan loaves shown here, are made from scratch right at the store.

They have a great bulk-item area, so you can get as much (or as little) as you want – they’ve got cereals, nuts, grains and more:

They have a terrific selection of wine, and a good variety of wines from Texas. (Local win connoisseurs will recognize these bottles as products of Fall Creek Vineyards, located in the Hill Country. )

Their floral department is great, too – and what awesome prices!

Something else that’s notable about H-E-B: Their H-E-Buddy program, a fun character that appeals to kids. At the Granbury store, they have a fun electronic wheel that you can spin, using “Buddy Bucks” that are handed out each time you visit the store. Every time you spin, you’ll get a sticker for a certain number of points (ranging anywhere from 2 all the way up to 50 points or so). Save up a few hundred points and you can get some cool prizes! If you shop at H-E-B, don’t forget to enroll your child in the H-E-Buddy Birthday Club; they’ll get free Buddy Bucks and points on their birthday, as well as a birthday card.

H-E-B Granbury is at 3804 U.S. Hwy 377 in Granbury. The hours are 6 a.m. to 1 a.m., seven days a week. To get H-E-B’s weekly ad and coupons, visit their site here.

Disclosure: I received an H-E-B gift card and basket of H-E-B products during my visit to H-E-B Granbury. I have not received any other compensation for this post.
