Give Back (For Free) With Facebook PlacesFacebook is really pushing its new Places feature, with lots of free stuff and discounts for people who use their iPhones or Android phones to “check in” at the places they visit around town. But there are also several retail chains that are actually donating to charity for every Facebook Places check-in that they get. If you use the Facebook mobile application, this is a great way to give back, without having to spend any money. Here’s who’s giving:

24 Hour Fitness – check in here and they will donate $1 to Kaboom, an organization that supports children’s health.

McDonald’s – Giving $1 per customer to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

North Face: Donating $1 to the National Park Foundation for every person who checks in at a North Face store or National Park.

REI: Donating $1 to a local conservation non-profit when you visit its stores.

Starbucks: Donating $1 per guest to Conservation International.
