Christmas Tyme in Aledo & Christmas on the SquareThis weekend, drive to the charming town of Aledo, just west of Fort Worth, and join in their annual old-fashioned holiday celebration: Christmas Tyme in Aledo. The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 4, from 5-9 p.m. Here’s what the organizers have to say about the event:

For the past ten years, hundreds of families and friends have gathered in Aledo to celebrate this magical evening filled with music, activities, open houses and horse-drawn wagon rides.  The aroma of kettle corn, hot chocolate, hot dogs roasting on an open fire mingled with the voices of Christmas carolers and wagon bells add a special touch to this once-a-year event.

Admission is free. The activities will be concentrated on Maverick Street, Oak Street, Front Street and 1187 South (Aledo Town Center).  The Aledo Community Center will also have Arts & Crafts vendors. If you’re coming from Fort Worth, just take I-20 or I-30 due west – Aledo is about 12 minutes west of town. Head straight for the city center and you’ll find it. Here’s a Google map to help you.

If Aledo is in your neck of the woods, don’t forget about another fun Christmas event happening in Parker County on Dec. 4: Christmas on the Square. This event is from 4-8 p.m. at Weatherford’s downtown square. There will be arts and crafts booths, live entertainment, children’s activities, snacks and lots of holiday cheer. Here’s a map to the square.
