birthright bbq fest

What better gift to give to dad for Father’s Day this year than a BBQ festival? The Birthright BBQ Fest is once again returning to Dallas Heritage Village this year to wow crowds with some of the best BBQ Texas has to offer. If you’re still thinking of what to do for dad this year, look no further than the Birthright BBQ Fest.

The festival is organized by dad and self-proclaimed “BBQ snob” Daniel Vaughn who set out to create the perfect event for dads. “For any father out there who wants to attend, you don’t have to ask for permission: It’s on Father’s Day,” Vaughn says. “You get to do what you want.” For any dad, the festival is sure to be one of the best DFW events this Father’s Day.

Notable pitmasters this year include: Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue in Austin who will BBQ a whole steer; Todd David, of Cattleack Barbecue in Dallas who will bring his famous brisket; and The Reaves brothers of Smokey John’s BBQ in Dallas who will smoke sausages; and Patrick Feges and Erin Smith, of Feges BBQ in Houston who will be smoking whole lambs.

Tickets to this all-day event run from $75 for general admission to $95 for VIP tickets, and kids 17 and under get in free! Beer, barbecue samples, and live music are all included with admission. VIP admission will get you in an hour early to help you beat the lines at the most popular BBQ booths.

The Second Annual Birthright BBQ Fest will be held Saturday, June 16. Doors open at 6:00 pm. Dallas Heritage Village is located at 1515 S. Harwood Street, Dallas TX 75215.

Tickets go on sale May 1, and this year the festival has room for 1,000 people, up from 750 last year. Visit the event’s official site for more information on tickets this year. Don’t give dad another tie this year – give him the gift of BBQ, beer, and live music at the Birthright BBQ Fest.
