Bring your kids by North East Mall in Hurst tomorrow (June 25) from 1-4 p.m. for their latest Simon Kidgits event – a “Safe Summer Event.” At this event, kids can learn summer safety tips from the Hurst Police and Fire Departments, plus visit with real police officers and fire fighters. There will be several informational tables set up with partners from the American Red Cross, Safe Kids Tarrant County, Hurst Recreation Center and more! Kidgits will be able to take a tour of a Police Car and Ambulance, plus visit with Search One’s K9 rescue dogs. There will also be hands-on craft activities to keep kids engaged including a ‘make your own visor’ craft and a ‘make your own bug catcher jar’, plus lots of giveaways for families to take home such as coloring sheets and wristbands.
If you’re a Simon Kidgits member, this event is free. If you’re not, the cost is a $5 annual fee, which gets them in to Simon Kidgits events free for the next year. Visit guest services or visit the Kidgits website to sign up.
Also, on July 2 the mall will kick off its 3-week Summer Saturday Series – a come-and-go craft event on Saturdays from 2-4 p.m. Kids can make the Bug Catcher Jar that they’re making at this week’s event, and on July 9 Bubbles the Clown will be on hand for extra entertainment. The dates for Summer Saturday are July 2, 9 and 23.
North East Mall is at 1101 Melbourne St. in Hurst.
