This Saturday (May 26) is the year’s last installment of Prairie Fest, a free event from 4-8 p.m. that includes plenty of fun, family-friendly activities. There will be live entertainment, discovery hikes for kids and adults, wildflower walking tours, and more. But there will also be a bonus event that evening: At 8:45 p.m., the Citizen Theater will hold a free screening of The General, a 1926 silent film starring Buster Keaton. The 78-minute silent film, with a musical soundtrack, will be presented on a 12′ x 9′ outdoor screen powered by the sun.
Seating for the movie will be on the grass, so bring a blanket. Food will be offered for sale by Chadra Mezza Grill, Good Karma Kitchen and The Wiener Man.
Prairie Fest is held at the Tandy Hills Natural Area, 3400 View St in Fort Worth. Find a map here.
