Haul the little ones eastward this weekend for the KidFilm Fest, a subsection of the USA Film Festival in Dallas. This weekend, Jan. 22 and 23, kids can see several youngster-oriented movies, including Gnomeo and Juliet, Summer Wars and Eleanor’s Secret. There will even be a special screening of Diary of a Wimpy Kid with the star, Zachary Gordon, on hand.
Tickets to each film are $3 apiece, for both kids and adults. See the flyer and schedule of events here. Courtesy of the Angelika Film Center, free tickets are also available to Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. program, “A Visit to the Black Lagoon.” Three films will be shown: The Teacher from the Black Lagoon, the Librarian from the Black Lagoon, and The Gym Teacher from the Black Lagoon. This program is recommended for kids ages 4-8. Mike Thaler and Jared Lee, the authors of the books that the films are based on, will also be on hand, and each kid in attendance will receive a free book from the series.
RSVPs are required for this free event, however. To RSVP, please email usafilmfest@aol.com with your phone number. They will confirm your response by phone.
