Starting Dec. 1, DFW’s three TEXpress tollways will be free of charge for a full week. During this “Fast & Free Week,” which goes through Dec. 7, you can drive on them and won’t have to worry about tolls! TEXpress lanes are tollways built within existing free highways to speed up the flow of traffic.
A few caveats for your free drive, however: You must have a TollTag (see details on getting one here), and download the free Drive On TEXpress smartphone app (or visit the Drive On TEXpress website) to register for your discount. You’ll need to have your TollTag to register for the discount, and the tag takes about 7-10 days to arrive in the mail – so start early! You’ll need to register for the discount by Nov. 28.
The three TEXpress highways are the DFW Connector in Grapevine, the LBJ lanes around Dallas, and the North Tarrant Express around the 121/183/820 areas.
