Here’s an extra incentive to stop by the Cowtown Farmers Market in Fort Worth this weekend. On Saturday, Aug. 18, the market will sponsor a Dog Daze of Summer event designed for families and their loyal canines. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are allowed. At this free festival, you can participate in a variety of activities, including:
- Cooking demonstrations to please dogs and their owners by chefs from the Culinary School of Fort Worth
- Susan Herbert, the Lone Star Dog Whisperer
- Greyhound Adoption League of Texas on site
- Pet portraits by Tom Marvin of Alliance Photo Studio
- Pet adoptions by Fort Worth Pets Alive
Please use grassy areas as needed, and clean up after your pet. A garbage can will be conveniently located to dispose of waste. Most of the dog-friendly events happen from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., before it gets too hot. Beginning at 10 a.m., you can also hear bluegrass, country and gospel songs from the Crosstimbers Band.
Farmers’ market vendors are on site from 8 a.m. to noon, but many of the best goods sell out quickly, so get there early!
Cowtown Farmers Market is at 3821 Southwest Blvd., in the Edelweiss parking lot.
