Sail Boston 2017 with Tall Ships Coming June 17, 2017!

Sail Boston 2017 is coming Saturday, June 17, 2017 to Thursday, June 22, 2017. Boston is an official port of the Rendez-Vous 2017 Tall Ships Regatta, the only U.S. port, with the tall ships visiting six countries and traveling over 7,000 miles.

Tall Ships visit often in the summer but Boston is hosting the Parade of Sail for the first time since 2000.

Below is the Sail Boston 2017 Schedule with events open to the public:

Grand Parade of Sail, Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 10-3PM
Event at Boston Harbor

Enjoy this amazing parade of where the vessels will parade in flotillas from Broad Sound into Boston Harbor. Public viewing areas of the Parade include: Castle Island, the Seaport District, the Downtown Waterfront, the North End, Charlestown and East Boston.

Public Boarding of Ships, June 17-21, 2017 from 10-10PM,*3PM start on Saturday
Event at Fish Pier, World Trade Center, Fan Pier, Charlestown Pier 1 and Pier 4

Following the Parade on Saturday, the Tall Ships will be docked at various piers for the public to view and board at the discretion of the ship’s captain. Note: Fish Pier is tentative.

Sail Boston Festival, June 17-June 21, 2017 from 10-10PM, *3PM start on Saturday
Event at Fish Pier, World Trade Center, Fan Pier, Charlestown Pier 1 and Pier 4

Music, food, and entertainment will be available at each of these festival sites that are adjacent to berthing areas.

Downtown Crossing Crew Parade, Monday, June 19, 2017 from 12-1PM
Event at Seaport Boulevard to Downtown Crossing

Marching bands and cadets from the visiting ships will parade along Seaport Boulevard to Downtown Crossing as the city to welcome guests from around the world.

Crew and Cadet Soccer Tournament, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 8-2PM
Event at Moakley Park

Crews and cadets of the Tall Ships will participate in a friendly soccer tournament and the public is welcome to watch.

Sunset Salute, Tuesday, June 20, 2017 and Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 7-9PM
Event at Charlestown Navy Yard on Tuesday and Fan Pier on Wednesday

Maritime pageant featuring fife and drum, bagpipes, and nautical regalia.

Tall Ships Depart, Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 8-11AM

The Tall Ships will depart Boston Harbor on Thursday morning for their next visit to Canada.

Many of Boston Sail 2017 events are free; however, there are some events that are not. There are private companies offering cruises and whatnot on the harbor for a chance to see the tall ships from the water.

Goldstar Boston (affiliate link) is a great website that offers discount tickets to a lot of events and attractions in Boston, including some Tall Ships Cruises! Some Tall Ship Cruise tickets start at $6 through Goldstar. Daily deal sites like Groupon and LivingSocial may have a few offers too, but many will direct you back to Goldstar anyway.
