Money Saving Tips

*Every Monday throughout 2014 I will be sharing Money Savings Tips to help stick to and expand your budget!

Surrounding yourself with frugal people is a great way to keep your money saving goals and help save money.

If you have friends that are encouraging you to spend money and splurge on front row concert tickets, it’s going to be hard to stick to your money saving goals.

Instead try surrounding yourself with people who have similar goals and are also trying to save money. A few of my friends laughed at me (at first) when I suggested a $1 beer crawl around Boston, but then they were totally on board and had a great time. (And have asked when we are doing another one…)

Having frugal friends definitely make it easier to save money because you have support in your goals, and maybe you can even learn a few tricks from them. It’s also great to have friends on boards for frugal adventures, free festivals, and .10 wing nights.

If you are not sure if you have any frugal friends, check to see if any of your friends are looking to save more money and be interested. I think a lot of people want to start saving more but there are not sure where to start.

If you don’t have any frugal friends, check out coupon swaps, frugal meetups, free events, and more. Sometimes it can be easier said than done, but keep your eyes open and you’ll be surprised how many people may also have the same money saving goals as you.

Having a frugal friend may also help you stay motivated. You may have a gym buddy, why not a frugal buddy?
