Cheap Weekend Events in Boston

There’s a lot of fun and free things to do for the first days of Summer in Boston! Please let me know in the comments below if I missed any of your favorite events for this weekend!

It’s also Father’s Day this weekend and Dads get in FREE at a few places on Sunday!

Boston Book Festival Presents HubBub: Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Copley Square. Hubbub is a new festival which celebrates creativity, inventiveness, & exploration for children ages 0-12 with their families. (There’s also free workshops for parents on Boston Common and you can request free seats up front).

Walk in the Park: Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Fenway Park from 11-2pm. Walk around the warning track and enjoy family-friendly activities for free at Fenway Park for Father’s Day!

Make Music Boston at the Lawn on D: Sunday, June 21 2015 from 12-7pm. Celebrate the summer solstice with a festival dedicated to Les Paul and one of the favorite instruments, the guitar.

8th Annual Make Music Harvard Square: Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 2-10pm in Harvard Square. Celebrate summer with over 60 musicians across the U.S. on 10 different stages! Free and open to the public.

Summer Solstice Celebration: Night at the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture: Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 5-9pm at all HMSC museums. Enjoy circus performers, music, dance, food trucks, and more with free evening admission to the Harvard Semitic Museum, Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments, Peabody Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, and Harvard Museum of Natural History.

Free Sailing Day at Piers Park: Sunday, June 21, 2015 from 12-4pm. Learn the basics of sailing and have fun on the water with this free sailing day!

117th Philippine Independence Day Celebration: Saturday, June 20, 2015 at City Hall Plaza starting at 9am. Enjoy a parade, cultural activities and concert!

Harvard Museum of Natural History: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency.

Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Sunday morning from 9am to Noon year-round with proof of residency

Harvard Art Museums: Massachusetts residents are admitted free every Saturday morning from 10am to Noon year-round with proof of residency
